About TOPITS

               TOPITS is a prediction-based threading program, that finds remote structural homologues in the DSSP database. Remote homologues with a sequence identity between 0-25% are detected by a novel prediction-based threading method. The principle idea is to detect similar motifs of secondary structure and accessibility between a sequence of unknown structure and a known fold .This is used along with many other servers to obtain numerous properties of proteins and thereby predict the structural folds and other properties like motifs and domains, low complexity regions, globularity etc. The predict protein database serves as one of the most powerful tools to know all about an amino acid sequence.

 


INPUT

STEP1:

The query sequence is entered in the FASTA format or as a raw sequence. A short description of the subject sequence is also entered. The results are sent through mail.

STEP 2:

Once the sequence is submitted the server asks for specific predictions of secondary and 3D structural properties that are wanted. The server gives the results and there will be a flood of emails.
